Why does this matter?
Every app you use depends on someone else's server. That server is a single point of failure, a security target, and a privacy risk. If it goes down, your app stops working. If it gets breached, your data is exposed. If the company changes direction, you lose access to what's yours.
Servers solve three key problems - connectivity, identity, and data consistency - but the way they solve them creates a lot of collateral damage. Peers solves those same three problems without putting a server in the middle. Your devices connect directly. Your identity is a cryptographic key you own. Your data syncs peer-to-peer.
